The beauty of no name design at Triennale di Milano

Thursday 8 May 2014

Opening June 19 at Milan's Triennale Design Museum, the upcoming exhibition No Name Design, curated by Franco Clivio and Hans Hansen, will include 900 objects classified by function and type, material and form - and all missing any form of obvious branding.

For several decades Franco Clivio, a creator and lecturer, notably at the Zurich Schule für Gestaltung (School of Design), has collected everyday objects that are usually considered mundane and unspectacular.

Often the work of anonymous designers, these objects pay homage to the ingenuity of craftsmen and engineers who have provided low-key solutions to a wide range of different problems.

The show will run until 14 September 2014.
