By Kamy at São Paulo Design Weekend

Friday 31 August 2012

One of Brazil's most well-known rug brands, By Kamy, has celebrated the very first Design Weekend in São Paulo by transforming its shop at Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva (one of the city's interiors hubs) into a sensory space inspired by a jungle.

The brand invited a team of designers to create a special collection for the occasion, celebrating the richness of fauna and flora. Colourful and tactile, products range from cushions to rugs and chairs.

One of the highlights of the collection is the Marakatú stool designed by Sérgio Matos, a young designer who has been a WGSN-homebuildlife favourite in the last two editions of the Salone Satelite in Milan. Matos takes inspiration from Brazilian culture - especially regional celebrations from his birthplace, Pernambuco, in the north-east of Brazil.
