Hobo, Indonesia: retail update

Monday 27 February 2012

We track the progress of Bali-based homewares brand Hobo since it opened its first store in Seminyak (read about it here).

Hobo's creative director and co-founder Anna Pretty explains that the store was opened for two reasons: firstly, to offer a window into the collection for export buyers and designers travelling throughout Bali, and secondly to capture the growing and increasingly sophisticated Asian and domestic market - which offers fresh opportunities in comparison to Western markets.

The brand is now selling into Lane Crawford in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and has plans to move into upholstery, home textiles and clothing, as well as opening a larger flagship store in Bali and a store in Jakarta by the end of the year. Subscribers can read the full retail report here.
