Louise Weaver

Australian textile artist Louise Weaver uses crochet and stitch to create stuffed creatures in classic taxidermy poses.

After studying at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and gaining a Master's degree in Painting, Weaver has exhibited extensively across Australia and has also seen her pieces tour the world. Weaver has been exploring the boundaries of textile design for the past decade, with an emphasis on knit, stitch and crochet techniques.

The pieces shown here are created by shaping lambswool and synthetic fibres over taxidermist's moulds or high-density foam.
